Calendar for the Current 2024-25 School Year
*Fall Semester: September 9 - December 6, 2024. No class the week of November 25.
*Winter/Spring Semester: January 6 - May 2, 2025. No class the week of April 7.
*We encourage families to sign up for the entire school year due to the way language acquisition works but do allow semester-only registrations in special circumstances.
*We often offer special Holiday Classes during the month of December for those families who desire to continue with the weekly class schedule during the holiday season. Otherwise, we find that our families enjoy the extended break during the busyness of the holidays.
*In the case of inclement weather, we typically close if West Ottawa Public Schools is closed. That said, if the roads get cleared in time for our classes and if families feel safe venturing out, there is the possibility of still meeting. One snow day is built into our calendar. If there are additional snow days, we will make them up in May.

SI (Spanish Immersion) Program Class the benefits of homeschooling + the power of an immersion education
SI Program Class Year 1 is for students who are new/newer to the Spanish language.
SI Program Class Year 2 is for students who have completed the SI Program Class Year 1 or who have completed 1st or 2nd grades in a public/private school immersion program.
SI Program Class Year 3 is for students who have completed years 1 and 2 of this class or who have completed grades 1-3 in a public/private school immersion program.
**Ages: Elementary-aged, especially 1st-5th due to the emphasis on reading and writing.
**These classes meet twice per week for two hours each day. The expectation is that students will attend both days of class. This increased contact time will allow students to reach deeper levels of language learning as they work towards bilingualism and biliteracy. The instructor is a former fulltime Spanish Immersion classroom teacher (15 years of experience). While all of our classes are taught immersion-style, this class will more closely reflect how the literacy (reading and writing) part of the school day looks in traditional Spanish Immersion programs in public/private schools.
**Please note that there is a heavy emphasis on reading and writing in all of these classes. Even at the Year 1 level, it is very helpful if students are already confident in their letter formation skills and phonemic awareness and phonics skills in English. If students are still working on letter formation and the ability to blend sounds in English, they would benefit from waiting a year before enrolling in this class.
**Due to the increased contact time involved with this class, the pricing structure looks different compared to our other class offerings. See the Pricing Information section for more information.
