*Spring Break: April 6-10

*Last Day of Classes: May 1, 2026

Class Descriptions

Preschool/Kindergarten
Two sections are offered to better accommodate a variety of family schedules.  The same content will be covered in both sections.
Next year's topics will differ from this year's topics to provide a fresh experience for returning students.

**Ages 3-5.
**Younger students will be considered on a case-by-case basis; please email us at [email protected] to talk with the instructor.
**It is preferred that students are potty trained.
**This class meets once per week
for one hour.
**In this class, students will be introduced to age-appropriate Spanish vocabulary and grammar structures through music, stories, movement, art projects, and play.  In addition to learning Spanish, students will also develop their gross and fine motor skills.
**Please note that this is a drop-off style class.
**Native speaking children are welcome to join as well!

Elementary Year 1
Multiple sections are offered to better accommodate a variety of family schedules.
**Ages: 1st-5th grades.  Kindergarten students who seem ready for a more formalized classroom setting may be enrolled with permission from the instructor.
**This class meets once per week
for one hour.
**This class is for students who are new/newer to the language and are needing to build their vocabulary more before being ready to form simple sentences.  Through targeted vocabulary-building activities as well as cross-curricular lessons, students will grow their speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills in Spanish.
Elementary Year 2
**Ages: 1st-5th grades.
**This class meets once per week
for one hour.
**This class is for students who are newer to the language and are not yet able to converse freely but are starting to put together simple sentences or even strings of sentences.  Students who are brand new to the language are also invited to enroll, if the Elementary Year 1 Class doesn't work with your family's schedule.  Through targeted vocabulary-building activities as well as cross-curricular lessons, students will grow their speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills in Spanish.  Year 2 has a greater emphasis on reading and writing than our Year 1 class.  Confidence with handwriting skills and letter formation are important with helping facilitate learning at this level.
Elementary Year 3
**Ages: 2nd-5th grades.
**This class meets once per week
for one hour.
**This class is for students who are ready to speak in more complete sentences and start tackling more complex topics in the target language.  They will continue to build their vocabulary and understanding of Spanish grammar.  The amount of reading and writing incorporated in class activities continues to increase.  This level shows a greater emphasis on interpersonal dialogue as students become more independent with their language skills.
Elementary Year 4
**Ages: 3rd-5th grades.  Other ages will be determined on a case-by-case basis.

**This class meets once per week for one hour.
**This class is for students who are ready to move on from the basics.  They will continue to build their vocabulary and understanding of Spanish grammar.  This class has a heavier emphasis on reading and writing as students start "reading to learn" as opposed to "learning to read" in Spanish.  There is a continued emphasis on interpersonal dialogue as students become more independent with their language skills.
Elementary Intermediate
**Ages: 3rd-5th grades.  Other ages (younger and older) will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
**This class meets once per week
for one hour.
**This class is for students who are ready to take their language learning to the next level.  We will continue with our trend of "reading to learn" rather than "learning to read" in Spanish.  Students will see an increased challenge in the level of Spanish required to navigate the topics covered at this level.  Ideally, students registering for this class will have already taken Elementary Years 1-4 with Estrellas.
Parent/Child Class for Elementary Students
**This class does not yet have a day/time assignment.  If interested, please email us at [email protected].
**Ages: Elementary-aged students.
**This class meets once per week
for one hour.
**This class will be modeled after our Elementary Spanish classes.  Come learn Spanish along with your child!
Lower Elementary SI
**This class does not yet have a day/time assignment.  If interested, please email us at [email protected].
**Ages: 1st-2nd grades.  Kindergarteners who participated in an immersion preschool will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
**This class meets once per week
for one hour.
**This class is for students who are ALREADY FAIRLY CONFIDENT when speaking/hearing Spanish and have some knowledge of how to read and write in Spanish due to previously being in a Spanish Immersion Program or due to living in a home where the majority language spoken is Spanish.  Students will participate in cross-curricular units of study as we continue to build their oral, aural, reading, and writing skills.  Students will also refine their understanding of Spanish grammar as we work towards age-appropriate accuracy in their oral language skills.
Upper Elementary/Middle School SI
**Ages: 3rd-8th grades.
**This class meets once per week
for two hours.
**This class is for students who are ALREADY FLUENT when speaking Spanish and are CONFIDENT READERS AND WRITERS of Spanish due to previously being in a Spanish Immersion Program or due to living in a home where the majority language spoken is Spanish.  These students should be ready to use Spanish-language texts to "read to learn" as opposed to "learning to read" as we complete cross-curricular units of study.  Students will also refine their understanding of Spanish grammar as we work towards greater accuracy in their oral language skills.
SI (Spanish Immersion) Program Class   the benefits of homeschooling + the power of an immersion education
SI Program Class Year 1 is for students who are new/newer to the Spanish language. This class does not yet have a day/time assignment. If interested, please email us at [email protected].
SI Program Class Year 2 is for students who have completed the SI Program Class Year 1 or who have completed 1st or 2nd grades in a public/private school immersion program.

**Ages: Elementary-aged, especially 1st-5th due to the emphasis on reading and writing.
**These classes meet twice per week for two hours each day.  The expectation is that students will attend both days of class.  This increased contact time will allow students to reach deeper levels of language learning as they work towards bilingualism and biliteracy.  The instructor is a former fulltime Spanish Immersion classroom teacher (15 years of experience).  While all of our classes are taught immersion-style, this class will more closely reflect how the literacy (reading and writing) part of the school day looks in traditional Spanish Immersion programs in public/private schools.
**Please note that there is a heavy emphasis on reading and writing in all of these classes.  Even at the Year 1 level, it is very helpful if students are already confident in their letter formation skills and phonemic awareness and phonics skills in English.  If students are still working on letter formation and the ability to blend sounds in English, they would benefit from waiting a year before enrolling in this class.
**Due to the increased contact time involved with this class, the pricing structure looks different compared to our other class offerings.  See the Pricing Information section for more information.
Gym Class in Spanish
**This class does not yet have a day/time assignment. If interested, please email us at [email protected].

**This class meets once per week for one hour.
**No previous language experience is required but will certainly be embraced!
**This class is an opportunity to learn and practice Spanish while also improving your physical fitness.  Activities will include group and individual challenges, interval training, yoga, and more!  This class may be taken in addition to one of our other class offerings or as a stand-alone course.  The instructor is a certified Group Fitness Instructor and Youth Fitness Specialist.
High School Spanish
High School 1a is for students who are new to the language. This class does not yet have a day/time assignment; if interested, please email us at [email protected].
High School 1b is for students who have taken Spanish in the past but would like to grow in confidence with present tense verb conjugation and possibly be introduced to past tense verb conjugation.
High School 2 is for students
have taken Spanish in the past and would like to grow in confidence with past tense verb conjugation.
*Ages: 9th-12th grades, but middle schoolers who are ready for a more formalized class setting are welcome to join as well.
**These classes meet once per week
for one hour.
**
These classes will help give students a foundation in Spanish vocabulary and grammar as they work towards becoming conversationally fluent.  Instruction is a blend of traditional grammar lessons partnered with Comprehensible Input - older learners often appreciate the concrete nature of grammar lessons while Comprehensible Input puts those grammar points into context, which is where the real magic of learning another language takes place as students USE the language!  English support will be provided as needed but kept to a minimum as much as possible.
